FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q1. How does one become a member of PCC?
A1. Joining PCC is easy and we welcome riders of all levels. New and renewal membership registration and dues are handled by Active.com. Click the JOIN PCC button above. The membership dues year runs from January 1 to December 31. Membership has its benefits: Club-subsidies of club clothing purchases, other organized ride fees, First Friday Social food and other activities.

Q2. Where and when are the club meetings?
A2. The closest thing to PCC club meetings are the weekly Saturday and Sunday rides (see #Q4 below).

Q3. When and where are the club socials?
A3. PCC First Friday Club Socials are currently held on the first Friday of each month at 6:30pm, at Skeets Bar-B-Q, 10228 Broadway (FM518), Suite 114, Pearland, TX. The Club sponsors the appetizers. Entrees/Drinks are the responsibility of the eaters/drinkers.

Q4. How can I get one of those cool looking PCC jerseys? What other clothing can I buy?
A4. Check out our SHOP webpage. It has all the clothing, ordering and purchasing information to get you looking awesome and a force to be reckoned with while out on the bicycle.

Q5. What rides does the club do?
A5. PCC sponsors rides each Saturday and Sunday. Look at the Weekly Club Rides panel on the left of this and all PCC web pages for ride start time and location information. All riders should read the Safety and Ride With Us web pages. Announcements of special rides will appear on the PCC Home and Calendar pages.

Q6. Can anyone ride with the club? Do I have to be a member?
A6. Anyone can ride with us. We only ask that you first read the Safety and Ride With Us web pages if you are not familiar with group and paceline riding.

Q7. Where do the Saturday and Sunday PCC rides start?
A7. Weekly rides start in the shopping center parking lot about 700 feet west of CR90/Silverlake Pkwy on the south side of FM518/Broadway. If you have GPS, the coordinates are W 29.55736, N 095.36533. We meet in the parking lot very close to the green arrow on this Map.

A9. Subject to the riders that arrive at the ride start location, we usually divide into 3 groups
   1. Group 1 - 60+ miles, 20+ mph recommended only for riders with a lot of experience drafting in a pack and with very high level of cardiovascular endurance.
   2. Group 2 - 40-50 miles, 17-20 mph recommended for riders with some experience drafting in a pack and with an above average level of cardiovascular endurance.
   3. Group 3 - 35-45 miles, 15-19 mph recommended for riders with some experience drafting in a pack and with a moderate level of cardiovascular endurance.

The ride generally has four or five different routes ranging from 14 to 70+ miles. The ride is supported with law enforcement at critical intersections, sag wagons and motorcycle patrols, amateur radio communications, rest stops (food, drink, & port-a-potties) staffed with happy volunteers, and rest stop mechanics,

Q12. Why should I volunteer to help with TGE bike ride?
A12. As a member volunteering support to TGE, you are 'paying back' the benefits you enjoy by being a PCC member: subsidies of club clothing purchases, other organized ride fees, and food at club picnics and socials.
